Department of epidemiology and health systems (DESS)
The areas of expertise of the DESS are epidemiology, cohorts (large groups of subjects participating in a scientific study), registries and surveys, health systems and services, health economics, evaluation, social sciences and quantitative research, statistics and data management.
Through research activities in these different fields, the department aims to create new knowledge or new applications of existing knowledge, primarily for the scientific community. It also aims to increase interaction between research and practice, notably by carrying out evaluations, expert assessments and case studies. Its experienced, multi-disciplinary teams use a wide range of scientific investigation methods in public health, adapted to each request.
