Department of Health Promotion and Prevention (DPSP)

The DPSP develops and implements health promotion and non-communicable disease prevention services for the population of Vaud. The department is active in the fields of nutrition, physical activity, smoking, mental health, cardiovascular risks and health-promoting environments.

It provides group information and awareness-raising services, and offers health courses in various regions of the canton. It also provides individual prevention consultations.

As a center of competence in this field, the department provides expertise and advice to various public and semi-public bodies at local, cantonal and federal level. It supports the development of health-promoting environments and assists local authorities in their efforts to obtain certification.

The department is also involved in health promotion and prevention training for professionals from various sectors, as well as clinical and applied research in health promotion and prevention.
